Law School Scholarship Application

Freeman & Freeman, 2017 Scholarship for Law Students


*PLEASE NOTE:  THE APPLICATION PERIOD FOR THIS YEAR'S SCHOLARSHIP HAS CLOSED.  APPLICATIONS ARE BEING REVIEWED AND A RECIPIENT WILL BE ANNOUNCED BY APRIL 1st. 


RULES:

APPLICATION DEADLINE - February 1, 2017

Scholarship recipient to be announced by April 1, 2017

ELIGIBILITY

  • Law student planning on attending, accepted to attend, or currently attending an accredited law school in the U.S.
  • U.S. citizen 18 years or older
  • Applicants may not be current or past employees of Freeman & Freeman or be directly related to a current employee at the firm.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Completed scholarship application
  • 500 – 1250 word essay (essays over 1250 words will not be considered)
  • All materials must be submitted by February 1, 2017 at 11:59pm; late or incomplete applications will not be considered
  • All materials must be submitted electronically via the form on this page.
  • An acceptance letter from an accredited law school in the U.S. (new students) or an unofficial transcript from an accredited law school in the U.S. (current students)

ESSAY TOPICS

Essays are welcome on any topic related to law or your personal passion for law.

Some possible topics include:

  • What events in your life have motivated you to seek a law degree and/or a career in the law.
  • What area of law do you see yourself practicing upon graduation, and why (e.g. - criminal law, personal injury law, employment law).
  • Describe any adversity you've had to overcome to this point in your life and how it relates to your interest in the law.

FINANCIAL AWARD

  • Once the winner of the award is chosen, a check for $1,000 will be made to the scholarship recipient's law school of choice to help cover education expenses.  Before receiving the award, recipient will be required to demonstrate enrollment at an accredited law school in the U.S.
  • The Scholarship is to be used exclusively to cover law school tuition and other related expenses such as books or room/board
  • Recipient is expected to submit receipts in accordance with IRS regulations
