California crash results in 2 deaths, 1 injury

Two people were killed recently in a California car accident. A 3-year-old also suffered injuries in the head-on car wreck. The crash happened on a Tuesday night.

How the accident happened

The California accident took place at about 9:20 p.m. Police said a man and a woman were driving cars along Dillard Road and crashed into each other. They were both pronounced dead at the accident scene.

The child, a girl, was also involved in the accident. Authorities said they believe the girl is the daughter of the woman who died. She was transported to a medical center for the treatment of her injuries. Police said witnesses reported that the man was driving erratically and changing lanes before the accident happened. The accident reportedly occurred when he drove in the wrong lane and turned into the woman’s path as she attempted to swerve away from him.

How an attorney can help

The surviving family members of the woman who died in the recent California motor vehicle crash may opt to file a wrongful death claim, seeking the reimbursement of financial damages. Likewise, the loved ones of the injured girl may choose to file a personal injury claim on her behalf. The claims may be filed against the male driver’s estate as well as anyone with an ownership interest in the car he was driving. A successfully presented claim may result in a monetary damage award to cover losses resulting from the accident, including burial expenses, hospital bills and other documented financial losses.
