California crash kills 3, injures 1

Three people lost their lives in a California car crash. The accident occurred on a recent Tuesday evening on Highway 152. These types of wrecks often occur as a result of a driver’s carelessness, such as distracted driving, in which case the reportedly at-fault driver may be financially responsible for any injuries or deaths resulting from the crash.

How the accident happened

The California accident took place a little past 4 p.m. According to police, a 21-year-old man was driving a car east on the highway but ended up losing control of the vehicle. The car reportedly overturned and rolled to the other side of the highway.

Apparently, the car landed on a westbound car. The driver of that vehicle was killed, along with two passengers. Meanwhile, the man who was driving the first car suffered serious injuries and was transported by helicopter to a medical center.

How an attorney can help

The surviving loved ones of the three people who died in the California crash have the option of filing wrongful death claims, seeking the reimbursement of financial damages sustained due to the wreck. Liability has to be established in civil court, based upon proof of negligence, before a judge will decide these claims for monetary damages. Successfully presented claims may result in monetary damage awards to cover funeral costs and other documented financial losses. Damages may also help to cover the loss of support for any surviving dependents of the deceased individuals.

Regardless of the severity, the aftermath of motor vehicle accidents often results in significant physical and emotional trauma. If you have suffered severe injuries in a dangerous and potentially deadly collision, reaching out to an experienced attorney can be the first step in recovery, if not a sense of justice.
