Multi-vehicle crash kills 2, critically injures another

California is notorious for its traffic, and sometimes, just going to work can place a person at risk of becoming involved in a serious accident. The state’s highways also have a lot of commercial truck traffic, and when a semi collides with a smaller passenger vehicle, the results are usually catastrophic. Sadly, two people lost their lives and another suffered life-threatening injuries in a multi-vehicle accident on the I-15 freeway in Victorville.

Accident details and casualties

Just before 5 a.m. on Sept. 12, a terrible crash occurred on I-15 between Main Street and Bear Valley Road. The wreck involved two tractor-trailers, a van and a work truck. Reports say the collision caused so much damage to the work truck that the vehicle was unrecognizable. The work truck was apparently carrying three occupants.

Two of the men in the work truck were killed, and another had to be extricated from the vehicle before being airlifted to a regional hospital. His condition was listed as critical. Reportedly, no one in either semi or the van suffered injuries in the crash. Officials with the California Highway Patrol are investigating the cause.

Right to compensation

The report did not offer any indication as to how this accident occurred. If the evidence suggests that either semi driver or the driver of the van was responsible for the crash, the surviving family of the deceased victims may pursue wrongful death claims against the driver believed to have been at fault in pursuit of a judgment for documented monetary damages. Likewise, the injured victim may choose to pursue a personal injury. To understand their rights and options and increase their chances of obtaining a successful outcome, affected parties will want to work closely with an experienced personal injury attorney in California for assistance.
